Attached is an article first published in the summer of 2005 in a London magazine. Telling the story of Bartholomew Fair from circa 1600 through to its final appearance in 1855. 'Bartelmy', as it became to be known, highlighted the seedier side of the London entertainment industry during its last three centuries of an historic 750 years existence. The downfall of the fair was linked to excessive alcohol and violence very much a theme of our current century. This is a contemporary story and one to be heeded.
